Jason Shelton | Senior Pastor
Jason is a native of Athens, Georgia. By the grace of God, he met a wonderful New Yorker, named Cindy, and married her 38 years ago (she is incredibly patient). They have four grown children and 14 grandchildren. Jason has well over three decades of gospel ministry experience. He really enjoys reading the Puritans, non-fiction, working-out at Olympia Fitness, occasionally wrestling with flower beds and watching SEC football. Depending on the mood, he could “listen” to Pavarotti,Laura Story, Zydeco, The Sonic Boom of The South, and about all the grand Old Hymns. Regardless of mood, he knows what the late John Newton said is true, “I’m a great sinner, and Jesus Christ is a great Savior.”
Adam Shields | Associate Pastor
Adam hails from the commonwealth of Virginia having grown up in Lynchburg, VA and Bristol, VA. He graduated from Carson-Newman College and then from Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando where he received his MDIV in 2006. After serving PCA churches in Montgomery, AL and Las Cruces, NM, Adam was called to his current position as Associate Pastor at Providence in 2015. He is privileged and delighted to serve as a minister of the gospel in a myriad of ways to equip the saints for the works of ministry including preaching, teaching, shepherding, and overseeing the covenant group ministry, Christian education ministry, and men's ministry. Adam is married to his lovely wife Jessica and they have two children, Emmaline and Isaac. He views his family like his salvation, a gracious gift from the King full of blessings. In addition to ministry among the people of God, Adam enjoys time with his family and friends, reading, listening to music, watching movies, traveling, or being on the basketball or tennis court. Some of his favorite authors he enjoys reading include Timothy Keller, J.I. Packer, John Stott, Cornelius Plantinga, John Frame, Sinclair Ferguson, Ray Ortlund, Tim Chester, Kevin DeYoung, and Michael Reeves.
Eric Catellier | Youth Director
Eric is a native of Albany, New York. By God's grace, he met a wonderful girl from Massachusetts, named Stephanie, and married her in 2005. They now have four great kids. Eric has almost two decades of youth ministry experience. He really enjoys reading the minor prophets, swimming, golfing, watching Chicago Cubs baseball and Chicago Bears football. Eric likes a wide variety of music from Paganini and Andrea Bocchelli to David Crowder and Third Day. He knows what the great Louie Giglio said is true, "I am not, but I know I AM!"
